Discovering the Heavens
Before I was 10 years old, I had developed an interest in the night sky. Over the years, my interest and knowledge grew. Although modest, I now have everything I need to be able to enjoy the heavens.
Not long ago, my son and I went camping on the Oregon coast, away from city lights. Late one evening, my son looked up at the night sky and after a moment, said quietly, "Gee, Dad. I never knew there were so many stars." That ignited his interest in the heavens above and we have had several enjoyable observing sessions since then.
On these pages, I want to share with you my hobby and some of the knowledge I have gained in time.
